Italvacuum, a private limited company founded in 1939, since the beginning of its history has designed and manufactured chemical dryers and vacuum pumps for the main production processes of chemical, fine chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Chemical dryers are used for the treatment of wet powders coming from filtration and centrifuge processes. In order to dry these dense cakes, chemical dryers are coupled with vacuum pumps that permit to intake and extract solvents vapours and water present in the products to be treated

Vacuum pumps, besides being exploited in vacuum drying processes, are also used in those of distillation, reaction and cristallization.
Italvacuum designs and manufactures both chemical dryers with cabinet shape and inner shelves and rotary type chemical dryers. These last can be both biconical and cylindrical.
Chemical dryers with double cone shape represent the bottonhole flower of the Italvacuum drying technology. Equipped with electric lump-breakers in order to obtain fine powders, this type of chemical dryers, named CRIOX System, has gained an international success during the years: there are more than 400 units manufactured from their introduction up to date.
Chemical dryers with cylindrical shape, named TUMBLE Dryer, are chiefly used for vacuum drying, mixing and condensing operations in the manufacture of granulated plastic materials.
Italvacuum, besides revamping its vacuum pump, has recently devoted itself to enhance and expand its range of chemical dryers. New devices for loading and unloading the CRIOX System and new equipments for washing chemical dryers with cabinet shape have been in this way introduced.
Furthermore the approach to innovation that has always characterized Italvacuum drying technology has recently brought to the launch of a new vacuum dryer: the Planex System, patented horizontal paddle dryer. Thanks to the adopted technical solutions, among as the eccentric agitator with two independent movements, the System represents the most advanced vacuum technology today present on the market, being particularly suitable for the production of fine chemicals and APIs.
Thanks to the competence in vacuum process applications developed in more than 70 years, Italvacuum can not only supply turnkey systems, but can also manufacture bespoke chemical dryers built according to the customer specifications.

Italvacuum has implemented an ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System that covers all aspects of the company’s work, from design and production of each individual component to customer service. In addition, given the importance of welding to end product quality, Italvacuum has certified its processes and personnel to ISO 3834-2.
Thanks to continuous quality monitoring throughout the process cycle, chemical dryers and vacuum pumps manufactured by Italvacuum comply with European ATEX and PED Directives, as well as with the increasingly stringent US FDA standards and cGMP regulations.
