Vacuum dryer for chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries

A vacuum dryer is a plant used in chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries that allows to dry wet and dense cakes coming from filtration and centrifuge processes.
A vacuum dryer is normally coupled with a vacuum pump that permits to intake and extract solvents vapours present in the products under treatment.

There are different types of vacuum dryer.

Italvacuum, a private limited company established in 1939, besides industrial vacuum pumps, designs and manufactures static dryers with cabinet shape and rotary dryers. These last ones can be both bi-conical and cylindrical.

The vacuum dryer with double cone shape represents the bottonhole of the Italvacuum drying technology. Equipped with electric lump-breakers in order to obtain fine powders, this type of vacuum dryer, in Italvacuum named CRIOX System, has gained an international success during the years: in fact there are more than 400 units installed from its introduction up to date.

The vacuum dryer with cylindrical shape, in Italvacuum named TUMBLE Dryer, is chiefly used for drying, mixing and condensing operations in the manufacture of granulated plastic materials.

The approach to innovation that has always characterized the Italvacuum drying technology has recently brought to the launch of a new vacuum dryer: the Planex System, patented horizontal paddle dryer. Thanks to the eccentric agitator with two independent movements, the Planex System - being particularly suitable for the production of fine chemicals and APIs - represents the vacuum dryer with the highest technological content present on the market today.
