The goal of vacuum drying consists in extracting solvents from the wet cakes coming from filtration and centrifuge processes. For this purpose vacuum drying is always combined with the use of vacuum pumps, that allow the extraction of humidity contained in the products to be treated.

For vacuum drying purpose Italvacuum manufactures both static and rotary equipments. The last ones can have double cone or cylindrical shape.
The rotary double cone vacuum dryers, in Italvacuum named CRIOX System, represent the flower of the technology developed by the italian company in the vacuum drying field. Equipped with electric lump-breaker units, these dryers have achieved a great international success: more than 400 units manufactured from their introduction on the market up to date.
The cylindrical vacuum dryers are realized mainly for drying processes, mixing and condensing operations in the manufacture of granulated plastic materials.
Italvacuum, beside revamping the vacuum pump range, has always been devoted to the optimization of its vacuum dryers: several devices for the charge and the discharge of the CRIOX System and for the cleaning of the tray dryers have been developed in the last ten years. Recently, the approach to innovation which characterizes the Italvacuum equipments for vacuum drying has led to the launch of a brand-new vacuum dryer: the Planex System, patented paddle vacuum dryer equipped with eccentric agitator with two independent movements. Being especially suitable for the production of API, fine chemicals and intermediates, today the Planex System represents the most innovative drying technology available on the market .
